New affordable housing programs announced by Mayor de Blasio

Mayor Bill de Blasio continues to reveal additional affordable housing programs as part of his Housing New York 2.0 plan to create 300,000 affordable housing units in the city by 2026. The two new programs are projected to help at least 2,100 families over an eight-year period.

A website focused upon landlords across the spectrum -- that is, a repository that tracks data for both those perceived to be the very best by renters to those who public opinion has found sorely wanting -- is gaining traction in New York City after its launch several years ago in Philadelphia.

FEMA Assistance for Homeowners and Renters

Residents and business owners hit by the storm can begin applying by registering at disasterassistance.gov or by calling (800) 621-3362. FEMA will help with temporary housing and for certain damage that is not covered by homeowner's insurance.
