Ronald Languedoc has been a practicing attorney in the area of housing law and real estate litigation since 1982. He joined the firm as an associate in 2008 and became a partner in 2016. His practice has focused on rent overcharge and regulatory status claims, succession claims, defense of non-primary residence claims, certificate of occupancy violations, environmental issues, housing subsidy issues, negotiation of surrender agreements, and representation of tenants’ associations, residential tenants, commercial tenants, and co-op shareholders. His litigation practice is balanced between State Supreme Court and NYC Civil Court, and he has handled several appeals in the Appellate Division and the NY Court of Appeals. He was a tenant member of the NYC Rent Guidelines Board from 2007 to 2010; he served on the board of directors of IMPACCT Brooklyn from 2010 to 2019, he is a member of the Brooklyn Tenant Lawyers Network steering committee; and since 2019 he has been a member of the Housing Court Committee of the NYC Bar, serving as Co-Chair of that Committee since 2022. A former housing attorney with Brooklyn Legal Services for many years, during which time he received the Legal Services Award from the NYC Bar (in 2003), he received his B.A. from Middlebury College in 1978, and his J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1981. He is admitted to the bar in New York and in the U.S. District Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.
