William Gribben, a graduate of Brooklyn College (1970 History) and Benjamin J. Cardozo School of Law (1980 J.D. cum laude), concentrates on tenant litigation and tenants' rights. He has worked for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Municipal Employees Legal Services Plan, District Council 37, AFSCME, where he practiced in their matrimonial, consumer rights and landlord-tenant units. As a Senior Attorney at District Council 37 he trained new attorneys, and lectured frequently on tenants' rights at union conferences and seminars. He has been a guest on WBAI-FM discussing tenants' rights and the New York City Court System. He is a featured speaker for the New York State Bar Association's Residential Landlord Tenant Practice Seminars and the continuing Legal Education course on Landlord Tenant Law. He is a member of the Executive Board of the Metropolitan Council on Housing's Research and Education Fund, and frequently lectures at Bar Association and Continuing Legal Education seminars. In the summer of 2008 he and Sam Himmelstein taught two classes for Housing Court Judges as part of the Judicial Seminars sponsored by the New York State Judicial Institute.
